Peewee AA Undefeated
at Bell Capital Cup

The Bluewater PeeWee AA team was undefeated in the Bell Capital Cup held December 30 through January 2, 2009/10. Unfortunately they did not win the tournament.
How is that you say? They had three ties !

Starting the tournament with a 1-1 tie with the Kanata Rangers, they went on to the second game giving up a 3-1 lead to tie 3-3 vs the Rideau St. Lawrence Thunder.

In the third game, against league leading Oakville Hornets, the Hawks needed a win to advance. The Hawks scored first, but the game was tied up with 4 minutes left to go. Despite a lot of pressure, the Hawks were unable to get another one past Oakville, and the result remained 1-1 tie. Oakville went on to win the tournament.

Parents and players had an enjoyable tournament. Many attended a Senators / Avalanche game or stayed the extra day to watch the Canadian Women's Olympic team beat the USA in a shootout. New Years Eve was celebrated in style in a packed parents room but everyone had a good time.
